The Bassmaster Kayak Series wrapped up its weekend stop on Lake Tenkiller with a major first: Nebraska’s Kristine Fischer claimed her first-ever Bassmaster title, reeling in a two-day total of 172.75 inches.

Fischer’s win not only earned her a $7,500 prize but also secured her a coveted spot in the 2026 Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship. Oklahoma’s own Luke Aryan wasn’t far behind, finishing a close second with 171.25 inches.

Unlike traditional bass tournaments, kayak competitions are catch and release — meaning anglers measure and photograph their fish rather than weigh them. This method ensures accuracy while protecting the fish.

Out of curiosity, Fischer weighed her day-one total of 90.5 inches, which came out to an impressive 15.5 pounds.

The Lake Tenkiller event drew top kayak anglers from across the country, but it was Fischer’s consistency and strategy that propelled her to the top. With this win, she solidifies her reputation as one of the sport’s elite competitors.

The next stop for the Bassmaster Kayak Series is set for later this summer as anglers continue vying for points and a shot at next year’s championship.
