A group of former Tulsa Public Schools students and teachers recently took a trip back in time by opening a time capsule buried 25 years ago at Kendall-Whittier Elementary.
The capsule, buried in 1999 while the world prepared for Y2K, was unearthed earlier in May.
Inside, the group discovered a range of items from their school days — including classwork samples, personal letters, diary entries, and predictions about the future. A signed football helmet, a flag, a milk carton, and a VHS tape were also among the preserved keepsakes.
While the contents offered a glimpse into the past, many said they were especially curious to see what was on the VHS tape.
