Ingredients
- 10 slices deli smoked ham
- 10 mini croissants
- 10 slices swiss cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 2 Cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp. dijon mustard
- Fresh thyme
Instructions
- Prepare the Custard:: In a large bowl, whisk together 6 eggs, 2 cups of heavy cream, ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese, a pinch of salt, and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Whisk until everything is well combined. Set aside.
- Assemble the Croissant Sandwic: Slice your mini croissants in half horizontally. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese inside each croissant to make little sandwiches.
- Arrange in the Baking Dish:: Lightly grease your baking dish. Place the sandwiches in the dish. You can stack or nestle them slightly on top of each other if needed.
- Pour the Custard:: Slowly pour the custard evenly over the croissant sandwiches, making sure to soak each one.
- Chill:: Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours or overnight to let the custard absorb fully.
- Preheat and Bake:: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Remove the plastic wrap and cover the dish with foil. Bake covered for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and Finish Baking:: After 30 minutes, remove the foil. Continue baking uncovered for about 15 more minutes (total bake time is around 45 minutes), until the croissants are golden brown and the custard is set.
- Garnish and Serve:: Sprinkle with chopped chives if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
