A Nichols Hills art studio and gallery works to not only highlight works of art but also teach children and adults how to explore their creativity.
The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch visited ArtLab to see what kinds of classes guests can take.
"We offer classes, art classes for kids and adults," ArtLab owner Lexi Crothers said. "We are also a space for people to come and see and buy local art."
Crothers said ArtLab begins teaching children at 16 months old, giving them self-confidence that will be useful as they continue to grow.
"The 16-month-olds, you'll be surprised, they can do so much," Crothers said. "It's just so important. Creating art and sharing it with the world helps to build self-confidence and personal pride. We hang up their art and allow them to share it with the world."
However, adults are also invited to take part in the educational experience, with ArtLab offering classes for traditional oil painting, moss art, and abstract art, as well as several other mediums of expression.
Coming up, ArtLab will host a "Galentine's Day" event on Feb. 13, where guests will make oyster shell trinkets and charm bracelets.
