Across the country, people are gathering to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In the metro, people gathered at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for the 45th annual MLK program.
Organizers say attendees listened to speakers and entertainers to work toward MLK's goal of bringing the community together as one.
"Not by race, age, or color, but just by the fact that we're all people in the same fight for the same thing, which is love," said William Jones, President of the OKC Martin Luther King Alliance.
The Oklahoma City Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade, originally scheduled for Monday, has been postponed to Feb. 1 due to weather.
It is one of the largest parades in the country with more than 100 participants.
