A Ninnekah teacher has resigned after allegations of texting a student, and the school board accepted the resignation, stating no wrongdoing was found.

The Ninnekah Board of Education met Monday to discuss the potential termination of the teacher, who was accused of violating House Bill 3958 by communicating with a student on an unofficial platform without including a parent.

The school's investigation found no inappropriate content in the messages, but the communication violated the state law, which prohibits such interactions regardless of their nature. Violations of HB 3958 can result in termination.

News 9 is not naming the teacher, as they are not under criminal investigation.
