Oklahoma City road crews are working around the clock to clear snow and ice from priority routes downtown, where 32 plows are focused on keeping major roadways clear.

Despite pre-treating streets earlier this week with a mix including beet juice, overnight refreezing is expected to make roads slick during the morning commute.

Neighborhood streets are not part of the city's snow route plan and will remain untreated. Oklahoma City Public Works advises residents to stay home if possible.

Several city services will be closed Friday, and trash pickup has been rescheduled for Saturday. ODOT crews will also monitor and treat slick spots overnight.
