The Bicycle League of Norman will host their 27th annual Norman Conquest Tour on July 13.
The event will have hundreds of cyclists from all over Oklahoma and surrounding areas to participate in a fun yet challenging experience.
“The Bicycle League of Norman is proud of the long-time success of this ride, which has become a traditional stop for cyclists from across Oklahoma and the entire region,” Event Co-Chair Priscilla Crawford said. “We are extra excited about this year’s event, which will have something for everyone, including a free tour through Norman the night before the big event.”
The route will take cyclists through the hill country of eastern Cleveland County with distances of 23, 46, and 62 miles through the hills.
The 62-mile metric century is designed for seasoned cyclists and for bike riders and families who prefer cooler and flatter terrain.
This year’s Norman Conquest includes a free, nine-mile town tour on Friday, July 12.
All the longer rides start at 7 a.m. on Saturday at the J.D. McCarty Center, 2002 E Robinson St.
Riders will be supported with rest stops along the way and SAG vehicles on all routes.
The event will help raise thousands of dollars to promote cycling in Norman and to help fund educational programs at the J.D. McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities.
