Oklahoma City Council Votes To Terminate Agreement Prairie Surf

Oklahoma City Councilors met discuss plans to build a near billion dollar downtown arena to replace the Paycom Center.

Councilors voted 7-2 to formally terminate the agreement with Prairie Surf Studios, which is currently located inside the former Cox Convention Center. The lease agreement with Prairie Surf ends Dec. 31, 2024.

In May, the council approved an agreement with the owners of the Oklahoma City Thunder, an agreement which includes the building of an arena on the old convention center site.

The new arena has a target completion in June 2028.
