The Owasso Fire Department and Rotary Club of Owasso have come together to help first responders provide quicker care for people in need of medical help.
The Vial of Life kits will give first responders on scene a lot of necessary information about the patient much more quickly.
These kits contain everything from someone's medical history to an EKG to a copy of insurance.
The idea is to have these kits, which are just plastic bags with all the relevant information, up somewhere where first responders can quickly find the information. Most times it will be stuck right on the fridge.
"It allows us to better understand the patient’s history to make really good decisions right there on scene in the moment, rather than having to take the time away from the patient to gather the important information that might be scattered throughout the house or interview other people in the family," said Chase Coates, Owasso Fire Department EMS Captain.
You can pick up a kit if you live in places like Owasso, Collinsville or Skiatook. CLICK HERE to learn more about Vial of Life.
