Oklahoma's own won the WRCA Ranch Rodeo Championship over the weekend in Amarillo, Texas.

Sooner Cattle Company youth and adult teams took home first place. They were the only team to have both youth and adult teams qualify.

Three members of the Sooner Cattle Company are bringing home the Rodeo World Championship title to Pawhuska, and they're all family.

Will and his two sons, Dax and Brodie, competed together on the adult team.

Dax says The WRCA Ranch Rodeo Championship is like their Super Bowl.

Dax Godsey, Brodie Godsey, Tucker Begley, Newt Haden, and Luke Campbell were on the youth championship team for the Sonner Cattle Company.

Corey Hurd, Will Godsey, Dax Godsey, Brodie Godsey, Cody Haden, and Russell Powell were on the adult championship team for the Sooner Cattle Company.

Members of the adult team allowed Brodie and Dax to compete on the adult team, and that meant a lot to the Godsey family.

"I just know I'm grateful for the guys that let me be on that team with them and rodeo with them," Dax said.

Sooner Cattle Company beat 25 teams to take home the championship.

Corey Hurd took home the Top Hand award.

They walked away with several buckles, ropes, coolers, a trailer, and more.

There are five team events and the team with the most points at the end wins. The Godsey's say the hardest part is pressure, but they overcame it.

"Just not overthinking it and doing what you do every day," Brodie said.

"We knew we had to come in and be solid and not let off the throttle basically just go at everything," said Will.

As newly crowned champions, the Godsey boys say they learned from the best, their dad.

"He taught me how to rope, how to ride, and how to be a cowboy," Brodie said.

For Will, passing down tradition is what it means to be a cowboy.

"We're all one big family. That's what it's all about, raising the youth up and having the same values and morals and respect for people and respect for animals," said Will.

All five first-place awards came back to Pawhuska. The rodeo season kicks back up again in March.
