Memorial Day weekend looks night, but there could be some severe weather between now and then.
Please stay weather-aware these next several days.
The heat returns Tuesday afternoon with a breezy south wind. It will be hot and muggy with highs in the 90s.
There is a chance of severe storms Tuesday evening that could produce damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes.
A dryline will move in this afternoon and east of it, severe storms could develop. This includes large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado threat. The chance is highest in the NE portion of the state.
The chance for central OK is 20%. Most data keeps the metro dry.
Tonight, a cold front arrives. This will likely spark numerous storms near the OKC Metro. These could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds.
Rain and storm chances look to increase Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, especially in southeast Oklahoma
What is the weather like for the rest of the week?
Tomorrow afternoon as the boundary stalls in southern OK, additional storms are possible.
Some of these overnight storms may be able to produce gusty winds and small hail. Rain will shift farther southeast through the day on Wednesday.
We are also still watching Thursday closely. What happens tomorrow will impact Thursday's pattern. At this point, severe storms are very possible on Thursday afternoon and evening, and these could pose a tornado threat.
