While we are watching the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, we are also tracking a few showers in Oklahoma.
The rain was spotty Thursday morning, but a few lucky folks picked up half an inch of rain.
Highs on Thursday are back in the 80s and 90s. We will still have some spotty rain chances Thursday night and on Friday.
The bigger story for Oklahoma is still the heat, as highs on Saturday will be close to record levels.
A strong cold front arrives Sunday. It will likely pass by dry but will bring real October temps back to Oklahoma.
HURRICANE MILTON
While we are quiet, Florida is bracing for a major storm in Hurricane Milton.
Hurricane Milton was named as a very strong CAT 5 on Tuesday.
Although it will "weaken" before landfall late tonight, that won't prevent significant surge along the Florida West Coast.
Flooding rain will also be a concern, especially on the northern half of the storm.
Floridians are evacuating in massive numbers.
If you have friends or family in Florida, check on them and ensure they know just how dire this situation is.
EMSA HEAT SAFETY TIPS

Wear light-colored, loose fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.
No alcohol or caffeine.
If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.
Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.
Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.
Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
