A scientist at the University of Oklahoma is leading a new research project to better protect Oklahomans from landslides, and he's getting support from NASA.

NASA awarded OU’s Netra Regmi a grant to use remote-sensing data and machine learning to better predict when and where a landslide could occur.

The grant will provide more than $270,000 over the next three years to advance the research.

The new equipment is expected to be installed by the end of the year.
