Justice Department Highlights New Efforts To Combat Hate Crimes

WASHINGTON -

The Department of Justice also taking a new push to stop hate crimes across the country.

The department's efforts include a $10 million grant to fund special hotlines to report hate crime incidents.

Attorney general Merrick Garland made the announcement days after a gunman targeted and killed 10 Black shoppers at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.

Garland said they are investigating the shooting as a hate crime.
