A day marked in Sooner history books came Monday when new head coach, Brent Venables, received his keys to the Palace on the Prairie.

"We want to be the model program in all of college football. Regarding how we run our program, we want to be the model for all others to follow," said Head Coach Brent Venables.

He left a message for everyone, saying OU is a football program built by and for athletes and that foundation of the university will never change.

He spoke about loving his players and helping guide them through the college world, and that's what he plans to do.

Clemson players past and present continue to cheer on their former defensive coordinator to success.

Bob Stoops was not able to be at Monday’s celebration, as tonight he will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, but he passed a message along to sooner nation, "We got our guy."
