OSDH Set To Release More Information On COVID-19 In Oklahoma

At 3 Thursday afternoon Health Commissioner Lance Fry and Infectious Disease Consultant Dr. David Chansolme will give more information about new COVID cases in our state. 

COVID-19 trends are continuing a downward trend, with the 7-day average sitting at nearly 1,600. 

According to the latest report form the State Department of Health, more than 11,500 cases were reported last week, a 12 percent decrease from the week before. 

OU Health's Chief COVID Officer Dr Dale Braztler says the state is heading in the right direction. 

"In general, good news in Oklahoma. The case counts are continuing to trend downward and hospitalizations have followed," he said. 

In total more than 4.1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the state. 

According to the latest report more than 56 percent of the population has at least one dose, 47 percent of the population is considered fully vaccinated.
