Man Convicted Of Child Sex Trafficking Sentenced To 30 Years In Federal Prison

A convicted child sex trafficker was sentenced Tuesday and is likely to spend the rest of his life in federal prison.

A man instrumental in his arrest spoke to News 9 following the sentencing. In 2018 a well-known local private investigator familiar with Germaine Coulter's criminal past sounded the alarm after he learned Coulter was recruiting and prostituting students at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

“I told him the last time I saw him in court that if he kept doing this, I was going to send him back to prison,” said Brian Bates, private investigator.               

In 2012 Bates distributed flyers to Coulter's neighbors in an upscale Oklahoma City neighborhood. The flyers’ claimed Coulter was a pimp and ring leader of a prostitution ring.

“Germain Coulter has probably been the most prolific pimp and human trafficker in Oklahoma,” said Bates. 

And at the time Coulter denied those claims turning to News 9 to vocalize his frustrations.

“It's a damn lie. It's upsetting, it's hurtful and really defamed my character as a person,” said Coulter.        

But Bates never let up.

“I watched him for two months solid until I finally had enough,” said Bates.

In 2018, Bates learned Coulter was allegedly recruiting girls from a high school forcing them to sell their bodies.

“He would send the girls out, they were given a quota they had to meet,” said Bates.

And while he was able to afford a lavish life for years Bates said Coulter's reign is over.

“He will be locked up in a teeny tiny cell for the rest of his life. He'll never walk out of that prison again and the community is better for that,” said Bates.

Coulter's attorney told News 9 his client plans on appealing his convictions.
