Edmond Public Schools' superintendent announced a mask requirement in an email to parents.
The requirement will go into effect on Sept. 8.
This requirement applies to all staff and students in grades 1 through 12 in all indoor setting, including schools, buses and district offices.
Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students will wear masks when traveling throughout the building and when sitting in groups.
The mask requirement will remain in effect until Oct. 13. At that time, the mask requirement will be reviewed.
If parents/legal guardians or eligible students indicate that compliance with the new requirement is not possible due to medical, religious, or strong personal reasons, they may request an exemption in writing by completing this exemption form.
News 9's Feliz Romero will have more information Thursday in the 10 p.m. newscast.
