A Tulsa church gave a brand-new grocery store $100,000. The donation was part of a larger announcement by Transformation Church, which donated a total of $1 million to different causes and organizations over the weekend.

Oasis Fresh Market said the plan is to give away $100 gift cards to 1,000 people.

Right now, the store is still figuring out when the giveaway will be.

"Oasis: this is $100,000,” Pastor Michael Todd said Sunday during an outdoor service, as he presented a check.

As Juneteenth festivities wrapped up, Pastor Todd with Transformation Church made the surprise announcement.

"$100,000 - yes, it's crazy!” Oasis Fresh Market Owner AJ Johnson said.

Johnson said as of Monday, the store has been open for just 34 days.

"Health is wealth. And that's what we're about at Oasis Fresh Market,” he said.

Transformation Church also announced donations to several other organizations, totaling $1 million dollars. A church spokesperson said “One Race” is an organization based out of Atlanta.

Below is a breakdown of the church’s gift:

1. Greenwood Cultural Center - $100k
2. Oasis Fresh Market - $100k
3. One Race - $100k
4. Build in Tulsa - $50k
5. Tulsa S.T.E.P.S. - $200k per survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre
6. Terrence Crutcher Foundation - $50k

The pastor described what grocery shopping was like in his neighborhood before the store opened.

"If I want a fresh apple, or a fresh banana, I have to drive five miles away,” Todd said.

He said for two weekends, soon to be announced, the church will be handing out $100 gift cards to 1,000 people, no strings attached.

Johnson is looking forward to the day when people can come to the store knowing they can fill up their carts with a little more than they expected.

"This can be someone else's breath of fresh air, someone else's encouragement to know: 'Man, somebody believes in me. There's a church, there's a grocery store that man, just, is going to give them a little bit of hope."

Johnson encouraged Tulsans to keep up with the store’s social media pages to know when the giveaways will be.
