Hot Cocoa Bombs

  1. 1 cup Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers
  2. 3/4 cup hot cocoa mix
  3. 1/2 cup marshmallows
  4. Extras: peppermint bits, toffee bits, sprinkles
  5. 2 1/2 inch Silicon sphere mold (Amazon, Wal-Mart, Michaels)
  6. Hot milk


  1. Melt chocolate wafers in a small bowl in the microwave at 30 second intervals until smooth. 
  2. Use a small spoon to spread the melted chocolate into the molds evenly all over.
  3. Make sure that there are no holes or uncovered areas. 
  4. Set molds on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove hardened mold from the refrigerator. 
  6. Place a porcelain plate on stovetop on low for a few minutes to warm plate.
  7. Carefully un-mold chocolate sphere and turn over open side down onto plate to gently melt edges.
  8. Work quickly...add 2 tablespoons hot cocoa powder, marshmallows and other mix ins to 1/2 of the sphere.
  9. Place empty sphere on top.
  10. Quickly rub the edges where the spheres meet onto the warm plate and then gently set in sprinkles to cover melted edge.
  11. Drizzle chocolate over the top and add more decor as you wish.
  12. Store in a dry cool spot till you are ready to use.
  13. Do not store in the refrigerator.

To make cocoa:

  1. Heat milk to steaming and pour into a large mug.
  2. Carefully drop a cocoa bomb into the hot milk and watch it open.
  3. Then stir!
  4. Add whipped cream and enjoy!
