9 Arrests Made In Oklahoma Operation Targeting Internet Crimes Against Children

The Norman Police Department said nine suspects have been arrested in a joint undercover operation to stop internet crimes against children.

The Norman Police Department said nine suspects have been arrested in a joint undercover operation to stop internet crimes against children.

Operation Traveler III was a multi-day operation made up of investigators posing as children between the ages of 13 and 15 years old.

Authorities said the suspects all engaged in inappropriate conversations with the investigators posing as an underage child and set up times to meet.  

When the suspects arrived, they were met by an investigator and taken into custody.   

In a press release sent Thursday, the City of Norman said the following suspects were arrested:

  1. Andrew Davenport Kelly was arrested by the Norman Police Department and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  2. Trevor Keith Mecham was arrested by the Norman Police Department and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  3. Timothy Micha Johnson was arrested by the Norman Police Department and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  4. Michael Kennon was arrested by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  5. Philip Herndon was arrested by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  6. Fenton Talbott III was arrested by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  7. Tyler Kuck was arrested by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology and a felony complaint of unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. 
  8. Steven Austin Munyon was arrested by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 
  9. Nery Akexus Alonzo Hernandez was arrested by the District 21 Task Force and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a felony complaint of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology. 

Several agencies including the Norman Police Department, Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, the Department of Homeland Security Oklahoma Office, the District 21 Taskforce, and Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police all took part in Operation Traveler III.

One investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
