Police: Bomb Threat Called In To Altus Bar-S

Altus police responded to a bomb threat around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Altus police responded to a bomb threat around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon. 

Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy told News 9 someone claimed that the bomb would go off at the Bar-S in Altus around 4 p.m. 

In addition to Bar-S, a hotel, car dealership and other surrounding businesses were evacuated. Murphy said K-9 explosive teams from Altus Air Force Base and Ft. Sill were summoned to search the scene. 

According to Murphy, nothing was found in the search but the FBI is assisting the Altus Police Department to identify the suspect.
