In phase two of the reopening plan of the state bars are allowed to open. Many of them have been closed since mid-March, which has taken a big toll on their business.
“It is heartbreaking when you put everything you have into something and then overnight it is taken away,” said Brooke Jones, a co-owner of The Merret.
But they now see the light at the end of the tunnel with being able to reopen their doors again Friday.
Things look different though, they have reduced hours and occupancy. All employees must wear gloves and a mask; social distancing will be in full effect. As well as other things like employee temperature checks.
They said this is all in an effort to keep their customers and staff healthy.
“We all have families and are concerned,” said Jones. “But we want it to be a fun environment that is safe.”
They do ask if you aren’t feeling well that you don’t come in and wait until you’re feeling better.
