OKLAHOMA CITY -- A repeat of last summer iPhone mania has spread around the globe with the release of this newer, sleeker and speedier mobile device.
People have packed Apple and ATT stores to be among the first to get their hands on the iPhone 3G.
All day customers waited for hours to get their hands on the newest iPhone.
With security guards at the door and caution tape outside the store it looked like a scene out of "CSI" only there is no crime.
The excitement was infectious.
The line seemed endless to some who waited in line as the iPhone frenzy continued all day.
"I've been here since about 5 this morning, so I've been here for about five hours," Sam Lower said.
The new iPhone 3G proves to be faster than many other phones, but fanatics waited in lines not quite so speedy.
"It's kind of annoying, but it's worth it," Audrey Biggs said.
Apple is selling the iPhone in 21 countries. Experts said that created a global burden on the iTunes servers; the software is used to activate the phones.
