OKLAHOMA CITY -- Jeremy Moore was killed Friday night while delivering pizzas for Papa John's pizza.
The 29-year-old had just celebrated his birthday and the birth of his first child less than two weeks prior to slaying.
"I'm stunned," friend Gary Hargrave said. "Many of his friends are very stunned."
Gary Hargrave was still trying to come to terms with the loss of Moore, a man he considered as one of his best friends.
"Jeremy was the type of friend that was there any time you need him," Hargrave said. "He couldn't stand for anyone to need anything. If someone had a flat tire alongside the road, he would have to stop and help."
Moore was carrying $42 worth of pizza when he was killed at the Lantana Apartment Complex.
"We believe he was set up," Sgt. Paco Balderrama said. "We believe he arrived at the complex and was robbed. Sadly enough, the only thing that was taken, other than his life, was $42 worth of pizza."
Gary said he delivered pizza as a second job to make money to support his new baby, Lilly. On Friday, Hargrave said the child sensed her father wasn't coming back.
"Lilly could tell when Jeremy wasn't there. At the time he would have normally come to take care of her, she had cried," Hargrave said. "Jeremy was a very special person and very dear to the hearts of many to people I know I feel compelled to ask people to help the family."
Police said they have no clues as to who killed Jeremy. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
Moore's funeral service will be held Thursday in Calumet. Jeremy's brother has returned from Iraq to help bury him.
A fund has been set up by Jeremy's friends to help with expenses. Anyone can donate to the Jeremy Moore Fund at any Midfirst Bank.
