OKLAHOMA CITY -- An evening of partying at a Bricktown nightclub turned violent just before a popular reality show TV star arrived on the scene. Some club goers say they are angry with the club over how security handled the situation.
One woman says she was kicked to the curb after being socked in the face. It all happened just before Jersey Shore cast member DJ Pauly D stepped on stage.
"People were like a mob," club patron Lilly Cerros said.
People at Friday night's "Back To School" Bash featuring DJ Pauly D say things got pretty crazy.
"It's to the point, like, I don't even think they could have controlled it," said Crystal Burris, a victim of an attack at the club.
"People [were] getting elbowed and stuff," said Cerros. "It was just crazy tight in there. There were so many people."
News 9 is told the very presence of reality show star caused people to rush the stage just to get closer. That's when at least one person got bloodied up.
"All of a sudden I see a punch come out of nowhere," Burris said.
Burris says as soon as she was knocked to the ground security rushed in to restrain her. At the same time, Burris says a man repeatedly hit her in the back of the head.
"I didn't feel protected at all," Burris said.
Burris says she was kicked out of the club and her attacker was set free before police had a chance to respond.
"They should have just did a better job and they didn't," Burris said. "That club just dramatized me."
The owner of Citywalk was unavailable to go on camera Monday. The owner called News 9 late Monday afternoon. He says the entire situation is unfortunate. The owner also says the victim, Crystal Burris, originally declined filing charges against her attacker. He also says Burris returned to the club after the attack stating she would forget about everything as long as she could get a "DJ Pauly D" autograph.
The owner went on to say the club is safe and, for the most part, the event went on smoothly.
The victim of the attack says she is working with police, trying to find the suspect. She also says she plans to sue the nightclub.
