The attack happened outside the Rok Bar at closing time. According to one of the victims, they simply walked out of the bar and were attacked.
It was the night after Thanksgiving. The three friends were enjoying a night out in Bricktown.
"The three of us just got together for boys night out," said one of the men who is still concerned about his attackers and asked us to hide his identity. "My wife was like go out do your thing."
He says the three pals followed the crowd out of the bar, and into the middle of a fight.
"I just remember briefly saying, guys, come on quit fighting and it was lights out after that," the victim said.
He woke up to someone kicking him and suffered a broken nose. His other friend had a gash to the back of his head. And then they noticed their friend Daniel's lifeless body. He was rushed to OU Medical Center.
"We're told by the doctors and nurses, not to sugar coat anything, but he may take a month, he may take a year to wake up and he may never wake up," the victim said.
Investigators have been able to use surveillance video to identify three men they believe may have information on what happened.
Now one of the victims is telling his story in hopes that someone recognizes them.
"All I can hope for is someone will come forward, will be brave enough to come forward, and have the courage to put someone ahead of themselves, to put someone's family ahead of themselves, especially during the holidays," the victim said.
If you have any information about the men, call Crime Stoppers at (405)-235-7300. Anyone with information may be eligible for a cash reward and can remain anonymous.
