Police Officer Involved In Crash On Way To Bank Robbery In SW OKC

An Oklahoma City police officer is in good condition following an accident on the southwest side of the metro, Thursday evening.

An Oklahoma City police officer is in good condition following an accident on the southwest side of the metro, Thursday evening.

Authorities tell News 9 the officer was responding to a reported bank robbery at the Wal-Mart when he got into an accident near SW 104th St. and Western Ave.

The officer was transported from the scene to a local hospital in good condition. It is unclear what caused the crash.

The suspect in that bank robbery is described as a black male, between 6'2" and 6'4" tall. He is said to be 40 to 50 years of age with a medium to stocky build, wearing a black and red baseball cap, tan gloves in his pockets, khaki overall s and a khaki do-rag.

Police say he entered the Wal-Mart and went to the bank located inside. There, he presented a teller with a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction.
