Crews Have A Grip On Grass Fire Near Edmond

 Fire crews responded to a grass fire near Edmond near Kelly Avenue and Simpson Road Saturday afternoon. The intersection was shut down due to the response to the fire. 

Officials said the fire was just outside Edmond city limits, however Edmond fire crews assisted. Oak Cliff Fire Department led the event and five agencies total were on scene. 

Authorities said this fire threatened structures, but did not clarify how many structures. At last report, one unoccupied building was damaged and there were no injuries.

By 4 p.m. Saturday, crews said they had a grip on the fire.
