A former suspect in the murder of Carina Saunders could go free.

Carina Saunders, 19, was found dismembered in duffle bags in 2011. The murder remains a mystery.

Jimmy Massey was at one time charged with first degree murder but prosecutors dismissed the charge due to some flaws in the case.

Massey remains in prison on unrelated charges and is now coming up for parole, something Saunders' mother can't bear to see happen.

"It's just really difficult, it does really make me sick thinking he could, he could be out," said Margie Queen.

Queen said she should not have to face Massey unless it is in a court room.

Massey claimed he *falsely admitted to his role in the crime in 2011.

"I'm not fearful for myself but knowing that he is so close you know...I'm fearful for my family, said Queen.

Queen is convinced Bethany detectives got it right when they accused Massey and Luis Ruiz of torturing and killing Saunders, stuffing her body in duffle bags, and dumping them in a field in Bethany.

Prosecutors disagreed and indicated the case lacked sufficient evidence.

Ultimately, the two were cleared of the crime.

"These are dangerous people and they need to stay off the streets, so no one else gets killed," said Queen.

She is now petitioning to the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, and asking that Massey be denied an early release for his drug conviction.

Queen hopes that would buy investigators more time to connect him to the crime.

"Even though the evidence wasn't there to charge him with my daughter's murder, I just don't understand how he can be out there," she said.

Queen is asking for at least 500 signatures on

She said even if Massey turns out not to be her daughter's killer, the drugs he convicted of dealing can be deadly.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website, Massey is up for parole on March 20th.
