Hello friends! I'm writing this as I sit in Harlow's pediatrician waiting room waiting for her two month checkup. I can hardly believe it. Where has the time gone - two months already! My little blue-eyed baby girl is looking up at me, occasionally smiling and cooing. I love this age! Don't get me wrong though, it hasn't been all smiles and sunshine. It's been quite the learning experience to go from one child to two.

Becoming a first time mom is an amazing experience. Becoming a 2nd time mom has been that, but also an eye opening experience. One that has me thankful for everything my parents did - and also apologetic for all of those sleepless nights I caused and tantrums I threw!

But I will say I feel like we've finally adjusted to having a younger sibling for Gage. The first month was pretty rough. He loves his baby sister. He pats her head, pats her face, pats her feet and then hits me! My sweet 3-year-old was apparently resenting the fact that I was giving attention to another little being. Luckily that phase passed after about a month. And I have my sweet little boy back - thank goodness! The other challenge with two kids has been getting sleep. The good Lord knew I needed a good sleeper with the second child and he gave it to me. However Gage is still waking up quite a few times in the middle of the night. I just keep telling myself 'this too shall pass'. But if I look a little tired, you'll understand why!

I feel like we're now getting into a routine. Nick and I finally had a date afternoon yesterday which was really nice! It's a lot easier having a date in the afternoon than in the evening with the kids because I'm trying to get them on a schedule. I am very blessed to have a job that allows me to go home on my dinner break so I've been trying to figure out how to feed the kids, give them baths, read books and put them to bed all before I go back before the 10 o'clock news. I'll tell you right now there's no way I could do it on my own. Luckily Nick, my sweet husband, is a big help. He has now taken over the responsibility of reading to Gage at night and putting him to bed. And I think both of them really love it.

Well, we just wrapped up Harlow's 2-month appointment and she's doing great. She's 11 pounds 5 ounces which is right on track. Thanks for letting me share some of my motherhood journey with you! I'll be back with Kelly, David and Dean soon (on March 30) so I'm sure I'll be sharing more on the air then. See you soon!
