Showers and isolated thunderstorms are developing late Friday afternoon in Western Oklahoma as a low pressure system tracks through the southern plains.
There is a slight risk for some severe storms Friday evening and overnight in parts of northern and eastern Oklahoma. These storms will be capable of producing strong, gusty winds and hail, as well as lightning and heavy rainfall.
Stay with News9, we'll keep you advised of any threats with these developing storms.
After this system passes through overnight, the weekend will be cooler and windy. By the start of the work week, though, storm chances return to the state with heavy rainfall possible.
