After a cloudy and drizzly weekend in most of the state, thunderstorms and severe weather are expected to return Sunday and Monday. Late Sunday afternoon and overnight there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms for west and northwest Oklahoma, with hail and damaging winds being the main threats, but isolated tornadoes are also possible this evening. Heavy rain is expected with any of these storms. However, northern parts of the state could receive the heaviest rainfall overnight with flooding possible.
The severe threat continues Monday afternoon and night. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats, with more heavy rain possible. This storm system will move out of the region late Monday night, lending a mostly sunny and dry Tuesday.
The next round of rain and storms returns Wednesday and Thursday.
