Low-cost summertime entertainment

Summertime is a great time for family vacations and camps for children. But keeping your children entertained everyday can get expensive for parents. So here are some good ideas for low-cost entertainment for your children this summer:

• The Woodson Pool at SW 33 St. and May Ave. and the Northeast Pool at NE 33 St. and Kelley Ave. both offer free swimming on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Don't forget the dollar movies at Northpark mall.  
• Also, try a season-pass good for Frontier City and White Water Bay.
• The Oklahoma City Zoo always has great offers as well. In fact, this Thursday is a free day.

But parents there is one thing to remember.

"We have to train our kids that we are not the entertainment committee," said Barbara Wright from the Norman Behavioral Health Group. "You need to be able to take your kids to the park and play. That costs nothing."
