3/4 cup butter softened (1 1/2 sticks butter)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, melted, slightly cooled
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour *To measure flour, lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cup, level off excess with a table knife. To avoid packing the flour, do not dip measuring cup into flour.
1 cup semi sweet mini chocolate chips
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Heat oven to 375 degrees then combine all cookie ingredients except the flour and mini chocolate chips. Beat at medium speed for one to two minutes, reduce your speed to low and add flour. Continue beating until mixture forms into dough (one to two minutes). Stir in the mini chocolate chips. Roll dough into one inch balls, place on cookie sheet, flatten to 1 1/2" circles with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour. Bake five to seven minutes or until set.
DO NOT OVERBAKE. Let them stand for two minutes. Frost with Nutella and garnish with almonds.
