Chase Ends in Collision

A trooper spotted a car speeding on Interstate 44 before heading north on Highway 76. The driver then collided with another car at highways 37 and 76.

NEWCASTLE, Oklahoma -- A pursuit ended in a crash in Newcastle.

A trooper spotted the car speeding on Interstate 44 before heading north on Highway 76. The driver then collided with another car at highways 37 and 76. He got out of the car and ran but a trooper caught him and took him into custody.

No one else was injured. Officials believe the suspect, Timothy Hoffman of Abilene, Texas, was drinking when he fled troopers.
