Suspicious Package Detonated on OU's Campus

Boyd Street and the north oval were closed after a suspicious package was detonated on the University of Oklahoma's campus.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Boyd Street and the north oval were closed after a suspicious package was detonated on the University of Oklahoma's campus.

The suspicious device was found near the Student Union and Monnett Hall around 6 p.m. after someone called police to alert them of the package.

The Norman Police Department's Bomb Squad was on scene to detonate the suspicious device.

Norman police determined that the package was not hazardous.

Both Boyd Street and the north oval are now back open.
