It is the first official weekend of spring, and already we are experiencing some spring showers. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible Saturday morning, spanning through Sunday afternoon. Severe storms are not expected during the aforementioned time period.
The chance for thunderstorms, as well as the potential for severe weather, will steadily increase Sunday night into Monday morning. By Monday afternoon, the atmosphere will be favorable for the development of thunderstorms statewide; thunderstorms capable of producing severe weather. Along with the common threats of large hail and damaging winds produced by severe thunderstorms, tornadoes will also be possible. The risk for severe weather will extend into Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
