OKLAHOMA CITY -- Summer is almost here and the time is right for splashing in the pool.
City crews are putting on the finishing touches, getting ready for what should be a wet and wild weekend.
"We are so ready for this summer. We've got our two aquatic centers opening tomorrow, along with our 16 spray grounds, which are scattered throughout the metro area," Jennifer McClintock with Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation said.
The spray grounds are a relatively new addition to the city's aquatic venues. The first one opened four years ago.
Just waiting another day for the pools to open can seem like an eternity to the kids when they're dreaming about riding down that water slide.
"It's slippery, and it's fast, and you go under the water, right under the water, all the way to the bottom," swimmer Autumn Grove said.
