TULSA, Oklahoma - State investigators are planning to discuss publicly the unsolved murders of two young girls who were found shot to death nearly a year ago along a dirt road in rural Okfuskee County.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said law enforcement officials will hold a news conference Monday at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Okfuskee County Courthouse in Okemah.
Monday will mark the one-year anniversary of the brutal slayings of 11-year-old Skyla Jade Whitaker and 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker, who were childhood friends.
No arrests have been made in the case.
Brown said Wednesday that officials have pursued hundreds of possible leads in their investigation and still believe someone knows who committed the crimes.
