BETHANY, Oklahoma – The local non-profit Prevent Blindness Oklahoma celebrated a major milestone after they helped two million children see 20/20.

Volunteers gave free vision screenings to students at Western Oaks Elementary Thursday. If they detect a vision problem, they refer students to an eye doctor for more care.

"A child does not know that they have a vision problem. To them, what they see is perfectly normal so early detection is the best prevention," said Dianna Bonfiglio, the Prevent Blindness Oklahoma President.

Out of the two million kids screened, volunteers say they have found 200,000 with vision problems.
