I’m looking for photos of the four heroes of my youth to hang at work-Arnie, Muhammad Ali, Pistol Pete and Joe Willie.
In perusing the World Wide Web for pics I came across a photo of a ticket/ducat for Namath’s signature game—the Jets win over the Colts in Super Bowl III. Price of the ducat? Twelve bucks. $12 skins! A buddy of mine told me he just bought two tickets to this Super Bowl for$1,600.
He immediately was offered and turned the corner of the end zone tickets for $3,200. Forty one Super bowls after Joe Willie’s Super Bowl Miami moment in the sun, Peyton Manning’s Miami moment has seen the value of one ticket increase in value by $1,588.
Scalpers Inc, LLC. Not a bad business idea in this lousy near-depression era state of the union.
Speaking of the Super Bowl?.former Sooner All-Americans and good guys Tommie Harris and Mark Clayton were at the Thunder -Bulls game this week.. Each told me they were picking the Colts to win. Each just smiled when I asked why: “Peyton Manning?he’s like an offensive coordinator at the line of scrimmage,” said Clayton.
I’ve always really liked Clayton, whose receiving records will probably be broken by Ryan Broyles if he decides to play all four years. And you’ve really got to respect him for the fact that he’s moved back to Norman and is hustling in his final semester of school.
The former first round pick of the Ravens is expecting to earn his communications degree. Young professional millionaire s that have the discipline to get back in the college classroom with pimply-faced teens—and clear-skinned blonde Kappas are great examples of completing a goal they had when they signed scholarships.
PS-If you know of any cool photos of my Four Horseman please drop me an email. Gotta warn you though. I’ll likely pay the going rate for Namath’s game and not Peyton’s.
