MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- News 9 This Morning anchor Stan Miller spent many years in California, but Midwest City, Oklahoma, has always been in his heart.
Stan took us back to his home town for News 9's Road Trip Oklahoma: Going Home series. Stan grew up on Shady Brook Drive in Midwest City. There was a big tree in his front yard where he'd hide when he got in trouble.
Stan graduated from Midwest City High School in 1973. The school's motto is "Once a Bomber, Always a Bomber," and Stan said he has some great memories of his high school days, although he spent most of his senior year getting into trouble.
"To be honest with you, I don't remember a whole lot about that year, except my home room appeared to be in the principal's office."
Stan's favorite teenage hangout was Jolly Cone. Unfortunately, the place was torn down years ago, but Stan still has some great memories of eating great ice cream there with his buddies.
