NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball team announced its 14-game non-conference schedule Thursday.
"It's a good schedule from the standpoint that it will really help prepare us for Big 12 play," said first year head coach Lon Kruger, who was hired April 1. "We've got some tough games on the road with the 76 Classic in Anaheim -- a very good field there -- and Cincinnati. The home schedule is highlighted by the game against Arkansas. That's a team that will come here and play extremely hard and well under Coach (Mike) Anderson."
The schedule is highlighted by Oklahoma's nine home games, two of those being exhibition games, as well as tournament play Thanksgiving weekend at the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif,.
"November 1 seems like a long way away, but it will be here before we know it," said Kruger. "Our team is excited for the season and we hope our fans are, too."
The Sooners open the season Nov. 1 with an exhibition game against Northeastern (Okla.) State and follow with another exhibition Nov. 6 against Washburn.
Regular season play begins Friday, Nov. 11 against Idaho State.
The Sooners will host Arkansas and Oral Roberts in early December before playing Houston in the All-College Classic, then they will spend the end of December on the road against Cincinnati.
The non-conference schedule concludes with a Dec. 31 home contest against Northwestern State (La.).
Game times will be announced at a later and more information on tickets can be found by calling the OU Ticket office at
