My 2 Cents: Bricktown Curfews? Absolutely!

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Nobody, save maybe the late Jim Brewer, the father of Bricktown, has been a bigger Bricktown booster through the years than I have.

That's why it troubles me whenever I hear anything negative about the area, like the curfew arrests that occurred this weekend.

Michael addressed that situation in his story tonight, but the report got me to thinking, are the officers being over-zealous down there?

Absolutely not. They may have jumped the gun on the curfew clock the other night, but Oklahoma City taxpayers have pumped way too much money into that one square mile area for anyone to feel unsafe there ANYTIME!

And some people do, I know because I asked them tonight on my Facebook page.

I don't, took a spin through there tonight, I've never felt unsafe in Bricktown, but honestly I haven't been there that much on the weekends when the teenagers congregate around the plaza area after the movies let out.

Sorry kids, I have zero patience for a bunch of loud and unruly kids, man I'm sounding old, but I have zero patience for anything that threatens to taint our city's wonderful entertainment district.

Make the Bricktown curfew for unaccompanied minors 10 p.m. if you have to.
