Ringwood Woman Killed In Major County Head-On Collision

A head-on collision in Major County has claimed the life of a Ringwood, Oklahoma woman Tuesday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

MAJOR COUNTY, Oklahoma – A head-on collision in Major County has claimed the life of a Ringwood, Oklahoma woman Tuesday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Forty-six-year-old Michelle Joann Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene. She was transported to Landrum Funeral Home in Helena, Oklahoma.

The collision happened at 11:26 a.m. According to the OHP accident report, a 2006 Ford Pickup driven by 31-year-old John Sodomire was westbound on S.H. 58 when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason, striking a 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Nichols head-on. The vehicle driven by Nichols was eastbound on S.H. 58 at the time of the collision.

Sodomire was transported to Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma with internal injuries. He is listed in guarded condition.

Troopers say neither Sodomire nor Nichols was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
