A two-month investigation into the distribution of marijuana has led to the arrest of four people, including two juveniles, the Cushing Police Department reported Friday.
According to police, officers began an investigation into the alleged distribution of marijuana in October at a house in the 900 block of East 3rd Street. The house is located near the Cushing Head Start.
After two months of investigation, Cushing police along with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, served a search warrant at the house and arrested 19-year-old Joshua Ray Wright and 20-year-old Emily Ann Wright on drug charges.
Two 17-year-old juveniles were also arrested at the house for possession of marijuana within 1000 feet of the Cushing Head Start, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said one of them was released to his mother and the other one was taken to court.
According to police, authorities discovered drug paraphernalia, unpackaged prescription drugs, and a green leafy substance that was tested presumptive positive as marijuana during the search at the home. Authorities said portions of the seized items will be sent the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Laboratory for further analysis.
Justin Wright was booked into the Payne County Jail on complaints of possession of marijuana within 1000 feet of the Cushing Head Start, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of CDS without a prescription.
Emily Wright was booked on complaints of possession of marijuana within 1000 feet of the Cushing Head Start and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both Justin Wright and Emily Wright were released from jail on $2,500 bond.
