An area sporting goods icon is closing its door.
After 40 years of providing sporting goods and uniforms for local kids in Midwest City, Twids is going out of business.
The company still has 50 uniform orders to complete and many teams now are worried they'll never receive them.
"I don't have any answers," says Amber Gooden of the Oklahoma Lady Bombers Basketball team.
Gooden says she's called Twids several times and has been promised a call back only to never receive one.
"It's frustrating," says Gooden, whose uniforms are costing her parents a total of around $800 to make.
Gooden's team has already started the basketball season wearing backup uniforms.
The numbers on those uniforms don't match the numbers listed on their now closed roster, so the team receives a technical foul every time it takes the court.
Twids tells News 9 it is still working to complete around 50 outstanding orders.
"I want to apologize" says Twids owner Jami Snell to those customers who aren't being responded to.
Twids says if it can't complete the outstanding orders, it will find another contractor who will.
The Midwest City store hopes to remain open until the end of October.
