A 41-year-old motorcycle rider from Stillwater died Monday evening following a collision with a car on a Payne County Highway.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 20-year-old woman driving a Ford Thunderbird was making a left-hand turn onto State Highway 108 west of Cushing around 5:40 p.m. She apparently didn't notice Jeremy Mezzell heading west on his motorcycle.

The woman's car slammed into Mezzell. He was thrown off his motorcycle, and died at the scene from head and internal injuries.

OHP says the driver of the Ford failed to yield at a stop sign, and caused the fatal crash. She was not hurt.
